Tailoring has always been at the core of Christopher Bailey's work for Burberry Prorsum. Focusing on narrow and elongated proportions with an emphasis on the shoulders and contours of the waist, Burberry Prorsum blazers offer a youthful and effortlessly elegant take on traditional menswear. The result is timeless yet often unmistakably modern. For S/S 2010 -a collection that explored the more subtle aspects of the Burberry man- a sumptuous cotton/silk fabric was used to lend a soft and elegantly disheveled character to sharp tailoring. One of the collection's signature pieces, this blazer was prominently featured on the runway and the seasonal campaign. 

The blazer has a narrow and elongated cut with a contoured silhouette, strong padded shoulders and slim elongated sleeves that gently stack below the wrists. Despite being precisely shaped and fully lined, the smooth unstructured fabric makes the piece exceptionally pleasant and comfortable to wear. The cloth's softness creates a subtly ruched effect on the seams and darts that pleasantly complements the jacket's sharp proportions. Furthermore, a transparent teflon coating makes it completely waterproof in line with Burberry's outerwear heritage. A slim notch lapel and a double vent complete the effortless design.

In order to achieve a flawless shape without affecting the luxurious fabric's soft drape, Christopher Bailey and his team have resourcefully addressed several construction issues: For example, a concealed strap connects the two outer edges of the double vent to ensure that the fabric does not bunch with movement. Likewise, imperceptible reinforcing lends a stronger shape to the lapel. The cuffs have four functional buttons. The buttons are made from horn with beautiful grey markings and are engraved with the Burberry Prorsum logo. The interior is fully lined in the same cotton/silk material as the exterior, with white sateen piping decorating the edges of the lining. The shoulders are hand-sewn while the neck features a polished metal hanging chain. 

Overall, the tactilely pleasant fabric and high quality of this jacket have the potential to make it an ideal staple for the warmer months. We strongly recommend it.
